Good morning.
I hope you are well.
I am writing to you about Sister "Birdie" Genevieve Lantz.
My mother (Deborah Wheeler) has completed a lot of work on the Kyoomba Sanitorium (in Queensland, Australia) for returning WWI soldiers.
A while back Max Noor at WOU curated the online exhibition of Birdie, and he reached out to my mother for some additional information on one of the soldiers in Birdie's diaries, Private William Alexander Smith.
I am writing to ask for the finding aid for Sister Genevieve Lantz's collection.
Also, can I please ask the process for possibly having the collection (or specific parts of the collection that may refer to Australian soldiers who eventually returned to the Kyoomba Sanitorium) tour Queensland, Australia?
Just so that you know a little more about me... I am Dr. Belinda Wheeler and prior to moving to the non-profit sector, I was a tenured faculty member at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
I have worked with archival material most of my professional career and I have published numerous works related to archival material including, Heroine of the Harlem Renaissance and Beyond Gwendolyn Bennett’s Selected Writings.
I look forward to hearing from you.
All best,
Belinda
