Any and all assignments

I work is Disability Access Services and I am trying to get access to a digital version of this textbook to share with a student registered with our department. I reached out to the publishing company directly and they said, "Thank you for your inquiry. The book’s page on our website lists the vendors from whom students can purchase electronic versions of the text. If the student purchases a print copy and the book is assigned as required reading, you have our permission to create an alternate format from the student's copy provided our copyright is protected and use of the alternate format is restricted to students with documented disabilities."

So my options are to borrow the students book and scan the whole thing which will leave them temporarily without access, or request a ebook be purchased for the library so the student can use it.
