There is a new way to get assistance with your questions from WOU librarians! Use the Ask a Librarian chat window in the left-side links on every library page. You don’t need your own screen name. If you prefer to use a screen name, you can add us to your buddy list using the information here.

  2. If you are looking for the soundtracks to one or more Star Wars movies, WOU does not have them, but Summit does. Items ordered through Summit usually only take 2-3 days to arrive at WOU, so it shoudl be here by the end of the week.
    If you are looking for something else, try using the “Ask a Librarian” box on the left side of the page for real-time help from a Reference Librarian.

  3. Hello, well I am planning to go to this school in the Fall of 2010. However, I was wondering what is the name of the student news paper?
    Also how many men and women are there attending the school? Thank you and I would appriciate it if you would wtite back.

    I’m glad to hear you are thinking of WOU!
    Our student newspaper is called The Western Oregon Journal. They normally have a website, but it appears to be under construction right now (you can try it later at http://www.westernoregonjournal.com). Admissions gave me a quick ratio of women to men, but didn’t have an exact number off the top of their heads. The ratio is approximately 60 women to 40 men. They have more detailed enrollment information available given some time and you may want to contact them anyway for further information about WOU. Their home page is at:

    The best way to find articles in the New York Times (1980 or newer) is to start with the Journal Title List from the Library and Media Services home page. The link to the Journal Title List is on the left hand side. Search for New York Times and select the LexisNexis Academic link. In the first search box, enter as much of the title of the article as you feel comfortable with.You may need to try just keywords from the title if it doesn’t come up when you hit search. If you can’t locate it that way, you can always come to the Reference Desk or use the IM box on the library pages for help.
