General Guidelines
HL 106 & 108 Computer Labs
To facilitate and support ongoing library instruction, computer labs HL 106 & 108 are restricted for scheduling during peak times of the term*. If you would like to request use of a computer lab during during this time, please contact the scheduling manager at mansayonc@wou.edu.
Alternatively, please fill out an instruction request form if you would like a librarian to provide information literacy instruction for your class.
*Peak Times are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during weeks 1-7 of the term.
- Reservation requests for times after 5 p.m., dates beyond week 7 of the term, and during weekend or intersession hours are accepted at any time. Please send these request to mansayonc@wou.edu for approval.
- We do retain a list of room requests that fall within peak times. Please send your request to mansayonc@wou.edu. These requests are typically filled at the end of week 1.
- Please consider whether conference rooms 116 ,210, 205 or 301A (floor plans) suit your needs
Priorities scheduling of HL 106 & 108 computer labs:
- Library & Academic Innovation instruction or events.
- Faculty class use (up to four sessions per class per term).
- Events by campus units or organizations that require the use of computers.
- An open computer lab for individual use.
HL 107
HL 107 is a flexible classroom/meeting space that can be rearranged. The standard tables/chairs lecture room layout seats up to 36, and a chair-only configuration allows for up to 60 participants. To schedule the use of 107 please contact mansayonc@wou.edu.
Priority scheduling of HL 107 classroom:
- Library & Academic Innovation instruction or events.
- Faculty class use (up to four sessions per class per term).
- Meetings, conferences and special presentations.
- Campus units, organizations, and club activities.
Study Rooms
- Unless otherwise noted, all study rooms have a computer, whiteboard, power outlets, and wi-fi access (for personal devices)
- Rooms can be reserved for a maximum of 4 total hours per day.
- Reservations need to be made at least 1 day in advance.
- Student group reservations may only be made for the current term.
- Non-reserved spaces are usable on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Reservations need to be made at least 1 day in advance.
- Student group reservations may only be made for the current term. Staff and campus unit meetings may be scheduled through the academic year.

The Checkout Desk has various cables and accessories for your large group meeting needs:
General Guidelines
- The digital production studio, located in the southwest corner of the 2nd floor (Computer Alcove), offers the tools and support for students, faculty and staff to create and edit digital media.
- The room remains locked at all times. Keys are checked out at the library Checkout Desk.
- The room may be booked in advance by calling the Hamersly Library Information Desk at 503-838-8899 (cannot be booked online). Same-day use is on a drop-in basis.

Other Library Spaces
Located at the north end of the 1st floor, the Hamersly Library ‘Learning Commons’ is designed as a flexible workplace for individuals and groups. Equipped with movable whiteboard tables, mobile whiteboards, and flexible furniture setups, students are encouraged to modify their workspace to meet their needs. The Learning Commons is adjacent to the ‘The Press’ coffee shop so it’s also a convenient place for those looking to get a quick bite or drink!

The 24-hour Student Lounge is available to all WOU patrons at any time of the day. The space contains a mix of computer and open table seating.

Located on the SW Corner of the 2nd floor, the Computer Alcove houses both iMac and PC desktops with a variety of photo and video editing software capabilities. Located within the alcove space is study room HL 202 as well as the Digital Production Studio. The Computer Alcove also houses a large-format printer capable of printing in B/W & Color in 8.5 x 11″ and 11 x 17″ sizes.

Separated from the lower floors, the 3rd floor of Hamersly Library is also known as the “quiet floor”. It features plenty of individual study carrels, tables, and dispersed computers for those wishing to study without distraction.
Other Facilities in the Library
Restrooms
Restrooms are located on each floor in the hallway close to the elevator. There is an all-gender restroom on the first floor, in the student lounge (HL 106).
Phone
A phone is available outside the student lounge and may be used to make local calls.
Lockers
Students may use the lockers located in the first floor hallway across from the restrooms. Keys are available at the Checkout Desk.
Vending Machines
A snack vending machine is available in the student lounge. There is also a microwave available for student use.
Book Drops
A drive-up book drop is near the east entrance. You may also return books in the drops outside the west entrance and near the Checkout Desk.
