Hamersly Library is pleased to announce our text message notification system. This service is offered to all students, faculty, and staff, whose devices are able to receive Short Messaging Service (SMS) text messages. It is an opt-in service and will not replace the current email notification system.

Currently, several different types of notifications will be sent to users who opt into the service, The ones you are most likely to receive are:

  • Items Available for pickup. This includes holds, Summit requests, and interlibrary loan requests (except articles).
  • Overdue notifications for items that are past their due date.

The text messages sent by the system will specify the type of notification. For more detailed information, users can consult the standard email notifications that they will continue to receive or log in to Primo.

To sign up, users should log into Primo. When editing your personal settings, check the box next to Sms Wanted and complete the SMS Number field with their cell phone number. Users may also return to that page at any time to change their phone number or opt out of the service.
